This discovery could lead to the development of drugs and cosmetics that could help to put an end to baldness.

Scientists at the University of Pennsylvania have found a molecule that is more likely to appear in bald areas than in hairy areas of the head.

The protein identified is responsible for accelerating the progression of hair loss. It is called prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) and its presence in certain parts of the scalp increases the effect of adrogenic baldness (male alopecia).

The most positive fact is that scientists have found a way to treat the PGD2 protein that blocks hair growth .

PGD2 interacts with GPR44, a receptor that is already known and for which there are experimental drugs developed to block it.

Good news because it could be the definitive treatment for male pattern baldness, which affects 80% of men in Europe.which affects 80% of men in Europe.

The number of men affected by baldness in Spain is alarming.

According to data compiled by the wig manufacturer Aderans (Japan), it was indicated that Spain was in 2nd place in the world ranking of cities with the highest number of cases of male alopecia, and the figure was alarming as it affects 42% of Spanish men.

Another study conducted by scientists at Massachusetts General Hospital also brings good news for those affected by hair loss.

Hair has been made to grow faster and stronger by up to 70% additional volume by using VEGF protein to stimulate the growth of veins and arteries to improve blood flow.

The aesthetic medical breakthrough has been published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation and according to its tests it is possible to stop baldness by increasing the irrigation in the scalp.

We hope to have soon the applications of these advances in baldness solutions in Spain. And in the meantime, if you need information about alopecia treatments in Cadiz, visit our aesthetic medicine clinic in Jerez.
